Biden administration sends illegal immigrants to New York who have no ties to the city at all: Adams is furious

Some of the migrants who overwhelmed the city's homeless shelters have nothing to do with the Big Apple. But they were sent here by the administration of President Biden, reports New York Post.

On July 20 in the Bronx, 28-year-old Veronica Prada announced that she, her husband and their four children left their native Venezuela on April 26. They crossed the US-Mexican border at San Antonio, Texas on July 11.

The family was met by border patrol agents who took them and other migrants to a processing point. There, the migration officials provided the family with information on how to apply for asylum. They were scheduled to meet with a migration lawyer in the Bronx for August 23rd. Although Prada said that she and her husband did not ask to be sent to New York.

The Catholic Church in San Antonio gave them food, clothing, and more. And then they were put on a bus to another Catholic church in Washington DC. There, the church put the family on a bus to New York, and on Sunday they were dropped off in Upper Manhattan.

From there, the couple and their children, ages 2 to 8, traveled to a homeless reception center in the Bronx. However, they were told that there were no empty seats. And instead they were sent to a temporary hotel in Brooklyn.

Since then, they have been returning to the center every day in the hope that they can get beds there and join friends they traveled with from Venezuela. Meanwhile, according to Prada, there is no guarantee that the hotel will have a free room.

Another migrant at the reception center, 35-year-old Jorge Parada, said he, his wife and their four children, aged 14 to 28, left Caracas in Venezuela for San Antonio on July 2.

According to him, friends who entered the US earlier went to New York. So he decided that he wanted to go there too.

When asked why, he replied, “I was looking for adventure. It looks like this is the place where we would like to live. It reminds us of home. This is a metropolis.”

Parada said his buddies told him about the stay at the reception center. So when his family met with immigration officials in San Antonio, he bought tickets to take the Greyhound bus into town. As soon as they arrived, they went straight to the reception center. There they were given accommodation at the Welsh family residence in the Bronx.

Parada hoped to qualify for two years of living assistance. But on Tuesday, he was informed that his family had not qualified.

“They told us to come back, introduce ourselves again and ask for another meeting. And only then will they see if we qualify,” he explained.

On July 19, Adams said more than 2800 migrant asylum seekers have entered the city's shelter system in recent weeks. He urged Biden to send additional resources immediately to help the city.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said federal officials were in touch with City Hall. But declined to comment further.

Jean-Pierre advised journalists to contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency. But on July 20, it did not respond to a request.
