“Allegedly, while living in the United States, Saab served as a Hezbollah fighter and monitored possible targets to help a foreign terrorist organization prepare for possible future attacks on the United States,” said Assistant Attorney General for Homeland Security John S. Demers.
“Such covert actions in the United States constitute a clear threat to our national security,” Demers added.
Saab joined Hezbollah in 1996, and his earliest activities in the group include monitoring the movements of Israeli and South Lebanese army soldiers in Lebanon and gathering intelligence in Istanbul.
