New York protest: dozens arrested, 11 policemen injured

The rally of supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan ended in clashes between protesters and police, as a result of which more than two dozen people were arrested and 11 officers were injured. The details were shared by the edition ABC7NY.
On January 18, protesters began marching from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge and making their way to City Hall Park. There they were blocked by the police.
The situation quickly escalated into conflict. Demonstrators blocked traffic, threw bottles at the police, vandalized and painted graffiti. The police responded with arrests.
City Hall was very crazy tonight. I'm not sure how else to describe it. A ton of arrests. The cops would not let up with the sporadic violence, and protesters refused to take it sitting down.

28 people were arrested and charges against them include hooliganism, obstruction of government actions, resisting arrest and blocking the roadway.
During the clashes, 11 police officers were injured, they received minor injuries. A NYPD captain hit his helmet with a bottle. The police are still looking for the man who attacked him.
