A tenant in a posh high-rise apartment in Manhattan has repeatedly thrown eggs at her neighbors' doors. And thus forced two tenants to move to other apartments, reports New York Post.
Yang Li, who lives on the 37th floor of 1214 Fifth Avenue, first threw eggs at one of her neighbors' doors on January 28. And then she did this strange act four more times between late January and July 4, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on August 12.
The door of a woman was attacked for the first time on 30 May. Then she found some raw eggs splattered on her front door and seeping into her apartment. The victim expressed fear that she was being targeted because she was Jewish. Or because she is “a single woman with a dog,” the lawsuit says.
The building on the Upper East Side boasts a swimming pool, gym and other premium amenities. Apartment prices there currently range from $3 for a studio to $750 for a three-bedroom apartment for rent on Lee's floor.
After the second act of vandalism, the building's management set up cameras in the hallway and repeatedly caught Lee hot
On June 16, cameras caught Li opening the door of her apartment and walking out into the common hallway. And then quickly threw a few eggs in the direction of a neighboring apartment.
The next day, the police were called to the building. The staff started asking Li questions about her strange behavior, but she slammed the door.
Both victims of the attacks asked to be relocated away from the crazy egg thrower. According to court documents, the owners of the building moved them in July.
The owners are asking the court to issue an order obliging Lee to stop throwing eggs. And they demand damages in the amount of $ 260.
