New York-based airlines ranked worst in US

When it comes to low cost airlines, American passengers usually praise JetBlue and criticize Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines. But JetBlue has failed more than once in 2021 — according to a new study, the airline has frustrated passengers with many hours of delays and flight cancellations. CNBC.
The Long Island City, New York-based airline was at the bottom of The Wall Street Journal's annual ranking of American airlines, behind both Spirit and Frontier. American Airlines almost suffered the same fate - they shared the third place from the end with Frontier.

Delta Air Lines was ranked number one on the list, which means it is recognized as the best airline in the US in 2021. It is followed by Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines.
The list, released Jan. 28, includes the top nine U.S. airlines based on their 2021 performance across seven categories:
- timely arrival and departure of flights;
- flight cancellations;
- long delays;
- waiting on the airfield for more than two hours;
- improperly handled baggage;
- removal of passengers from flights;
- customer complaints.
The rankings are based on data from the US Department of Transportation and masFlight, a transportation and aviation analysis software company.

- Alaska Airlines
- Southwest Airlines
- United Airlines
- Allegiant Air
- Frontier Airlines/American Airlines
- Spirit Airlines
- JetBlue Airways
The analysis showed that JetBlue had the highest rate of extreme delays and incidents, where passengers had to wait on the runway for at least two hours. According to the rankings, JetBlue also had the second highest number of customer complaints behind Spirit.
