New York's top poster museum offers free admission to everyone all day on Fridays.
Three new exhibitions opened this week, including Just Frame It: How Nike Turned Sports Stars into Superheroes. Poster House is open Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 18:00 PM, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 21:00 PM. Admission is free on Fridays, and $12 on other days.
Choose your outfit for FranCon
It's like SantaCon, but you dress like Fran Lebowitz, according to event co-founder Jane August. FranCon is in its fourth year and will take place Oct. 24 at the Holiday Cocktail Lounge in the East Village. Admission is free, drinks are extra. Guests are encouraged to bring a book to swap.
Take part in dog parades
So many dog parades, so little time! Fort Greene will host the Great Pupkin Dog Costume Contest, and Washington Square Park will also host a Halloween Dog Day.
