Homeless woman tried to kidnap baby from stroller in New York

The homeless woman screamed, "That's my baby!" and tried to grab a 3-year-old boy from a stroller in front of his grandmother. The attack took place in Gramercy Park on January 3, reports New York Post.
The disturbing incident took place at 253 First Ave. in Manhattan around 9:30 am. Suspect Victoria Parkes, 39, approached the child and his grandmother and tried to steal the child. Claiming that "it's her baby," the woman added, "They just changed his face."
Parkes punched the grandmother in the face and tried to grab the child, police and witnesses said.
“She said it was her baby,” Grandma Barbara said.
An eyewitness who works at a nearby Empanada Mama restaurant said he saw the homeless woman when he came to his shift around 7 am.

According to him, he later saw the two women quarreling and intervened.
“They were fighting over the baby when I came out,” said the man, who identified himself as Oscar. “The woman [homeless] who was here tried to grab the baby [from the stroller].”
He said that the grandmother was trying to protect the baby.
“They were both screaming and fighting over the baby,” he said.
The police were called, and the homeless Parkes was charged with assault. According to the police, she was given a summons to appear in court, which will take place later.
