Boyfriend beat a nurse from Brooklyn to death: what to do if you find yourself in an abusive relationship

The body of a young nurse was found on the floor of her Brooklyn apartment. She was the victim of a brutal beating. The police interrogate the boyfriend of the deceased - it is he who is suspected of murder, reports New York Daily News.

Police officers who arrived at Kelly Kwak's apartment on Gates Avenue on March 10 found the woman dead on the floor in the living room: she was lying in a pool of blood and with bruises on her body.

“I can't believe… this is unreal,” said a heartbroken Shin Young, Kwak's mother. “I'm trying to move on. But from time to time I think about my daughter and break down. It's very terrible. She was only 28 years old.”

Yang, 61, said she last texted her daughter around 21:00 pm on March 5, five days before she was found dead.

“The daughter was a family girl,” the mother remarked. She loved her mother, father, her brother. Scooby Kelly saved her dog. She said she had to save a dog from a shelter.”

The door to the police officers who arrived at Kwak's apartment was opened by the extremely lethargic 32-year-old boyfriend of the deceased. He told the officers that he took a lot of sedative pills.

Kelly, a native of Queens, was found on the floor in a huge pool of blood. She received multiple blunt force injuries and her face was bruised.

The girl died at the scene. An ambulance took her boyfriend, who may be suffering from a mental disorder, to Woodhull Hospital for treatment.

The police arrived after they received a call from Brother Kwak, who lives out of state. He asked them to check the girl's apartment, as he was worried for her safety.

Police believe Kwak had been dead for at least a day when the officers arrived. The mother did not know what had happened to her daughter until the detectives informed her of Kelly's death.

Yang said that her daughter and her boyfriend "came together and broke up." According to the mother, the details of her daughter's death remain a mystery.
