New Yorkers mourned the closure of the iconic Century 21 stores in 2020 when the company filed for bankruptcy and closed all of its New York City locations. Fortunately, the retail chain is ready for a comeback. Time-out.
The iconic store will reopen downtown at 2023 Cortlandt Street, directly across from the World Trade Center, in spring 22, according to an official press release.
This is a partnership between Century 21 and Legends, so the store will offer a more streamlined and modern customer experience. The traditional logo will also be slightly different, adding "New York" (NYC) to it.
Some things, however, will remain the same - including the size of the store. On its four main floors, the retailer will sell men's, women's and children's designer clothing, shoes, accessories, outerwear and perfumes at discount prices.

“Century 21 has been and always will be New York City's brand,” said Raymond Guindy, CEO of Century 21. “Our flagship store has long been a symbol of the city's resilience and unwavering spirit. In our 60-year history, we have closed our doors only twice: once after the devastation of 11/19 and then again during the COVID-XNUMX pandemic. But like true New Yorkers, we persevered and we're coming back."
