The bouquet is relevant in any country, and you can make it from anything. It was on this idea that Diana from Kharkiv raised her family business in New York. Of course, part of the profits goes to help Ukraine, reports Voice of America.
“We had to go to a birthday party. And I decided to try to make a bouquet myself. He caused a stir! All the guests were delighted, they said “Wow”. Actually, this became our name. So that, bringing a bouquet, everyone would say “Wow!”, - Diana Valishina, the founder of WOW Bouquet, admits.
Diana and her husband are engaged in food floristry in America, making edible bouquets. The amount of sweets in the office, where children sometimes come, of course, is huge. Therefore, they sometimes try to steal something. Of the difficulties of the work - the desire to eat the ingredients of the bouquet. Especially when you have to collect them at night.
The couple remembers the special bouquets with pleasure. One of the interesting orders was a bouquet of dollar bills. The person wanted to donate a thousand dollars, but did not want to do it in the standard way. There was also an original order for a little girl who loves bacon. As a result, Diana made bacon roses, added flowers, and the result was an original bouquet.
“Diana is engaged in creativity, and I am engaged in logistics. We see each other and communicate not as often as it might seem. Usually we see each other only in the evening, when we are already together with the children, ”admits Timur.
He has been living in America for a long time, more than 20 years. And Diana moved three years ago. She herself is from Kharkov, she graduated from high school there. And then she moved with her family to Kyiv. Somehow the girl went with her friends to the Dominican Republic. And at the same time Timur was there with his friends. That's how they met. The holiday romance turned into something more. After some time, Timur arrived in Kyiv with a ring. Three months later they got married.
“I put macaroons on skewers, and then I make a bouquet out of them. When we started working, we bought a thousand of these skewers. Then we thought for a long time, where are we going to put them. It seemed like a lot. Two years later, batches of 250 skewers come to us. And they are enough for about 2-3 months,” says Timur.
When the guys started the sweet business, they had a maximum of 50-60 customers. At the moment, WOW Bouquet has delivery to the 5 nearest states. Once there was a delivery to Canada.
“We were unable to cross the border. We drove up to the border, the Canadians crossed and took the bouquet. That is, there are so many moments when a person wants our bouquet, ”the couple says proudly.
After the massive explosion in Kharkov, Diana and Timur realized that the only thing they could do was financially help the people who were there. Therefore, they decided that 10% of sales will be sent to Ukraine to people they know. They know the needs of people better and help direct funds to those in need.
