A year ago, Vadim Rogovsky, the founder of Clickky and 3DLOOK, moved to New York. He is constantly asked about how life is in this metropolis and whether it is worth moving here. As a response to all these people, he compiled his list of pros and cons of New York and published it on Facebook.

So, the advantages of New York (Rogovsky considers them quite obvious)

1. New York is a city that epitomizes entrepreneurship

Here you can meet businessmen working in any industry and in companies of different sizes - from small businesses to huge corporations.

“This creates a unique and inimitable environment for the exchange of experience and expertise,” writes Rogowski.

2. Everyone can succeed in New York, the main thing is to want

“Here, in general, no one cares where you are from, what language you speak (unlike in Europe). The main thing is what you do and how ambitious, curious and open to growth, both professional and personal, you are,” the immigrant entrepreneur explained.

According to Rogowski, the New York market has the best of everything. The city has very solvent buyers, in addition, it is the business capital of the world, which many entrepreneurs see as the pinnacle of their career.

3. Rich cultural life for all age groups

“Personally, I enjoy looking at beautiful and stylish people around. Unlike the Valley, with Lululemon-covered asses in Michelin-starred restaurants, and almost no cultural life as such. In New York, there are a lot of all kinds of development options for children of all ages. It's a common myth that having kids in NYC is hard - it's absolutely not true. But it is, of course, more expensive than in most other cities,” said Rogovsky, who moved to New York with his wife and daughter.

The entrepreneur also likes the diversity of the metropolis - "no area is like another."

4. You don't have to go anywhere

Rogowski calls New York “a place with curved gravity: “If you are here, then you don’t need to fly anywhere to meet people - everyone will fly to you sooner or later.”

Cons of New York (according to Rogowski)

1. NYC along with Singapore topped the list of the most expensive cities in the world in 2022. Although the entrepreneur is sure that all the pluses of New York "quite justify the high prices."
2. This is not the cleanest city in the world, although a lot depends on the area.
3. The weather is often unpredictable, with sudden changes that reach +/- 20 degrees Celsius.

City that evokes emotions

“I have not yet met people who are indifferent to this city, but only those who either love it or hate it. And very often those who hate - once upon a time spent one week there, living in Times Square. It's like judging Paris while taking a bus tour through Europe,” Rogovsky summed up.

He considers New York to be the ideal place for personal growth, just "you need to be open."
