The main Hollywood night comes to New York. Many bars, restaurants and cinemas in the city are hosting parties in honor of the 95th annual Academy Awards ceremony on March 12th. This year, the Metrograph is once again hosting its annual free Oscars party. An old Hollywood-style two-screen theater on the Lower East Side will show the ceremony on both screens, one of which will be silent. Light snacks and signature Oscar-themed cocktails await guests. 230 Fifth
230 Fifth in Midtown is known for its year-round glitz and glamour. But for the Oscars, this indoor bar and outdoor events venue is taken to the next level. Fraunces tavern
If you love history and Hollywood, head to Fraunces Tavern. This is a historic bar in the Financial District founded in 1762. Littlefield
Dress up and get ready for the red carpet. Gowanus Bar and Littlefield Performance Venue hosts a free screening of the Oscars. Hosted by actress and comedian Ruby McCollister. The event includes a pre-screening red carpet, popcorn and one complimentary glass of sparkling wine per person. Doors open at 18:30. Pre-registration does not guarantee entry, so arrive early to secure your seat.
Roxy Cinema
The beloved Roxy Cinema is a roaring 1920s-style movie theater in Tribeca that specializes in independent films, rare archive copies and cult classics. The art deco theater will host an Oscars party hosted by legendary New York drag queens Ruby Fox and Xunami Mews. DRAG the Oscars will offer guests "fierce looks, shady comments and big prizes," including a chance to win an annual Roxy Cinema membership, according to the event's page. The Oscars special menu includes movie-inspired cocktails (like Everything in This Drink All At Once) and snacks like warm pretzels and grilled cheeses. Oscar Wild Bar
The Oscar Wilde Bar is a charming establishment with luxurious décor, antiques and the longest bar in New York. The Nomad bar, named after the Irish playwright, is back hosting its annual Oscars party. The six-hour black tie dress code event will begin at 19:00 pm. Guests can choose from 10 Oscar-inspired cocktails and a prix-fixe menu. $50 tickets includes a glass of champagne and popcorn, as well as a preliminary red carpet photo shoot. There are also VIP options: $323 for two and $644 for four with an open bar and snacks.
Spanish Diner
Spanish Diner located in the José Andres Food Pavilion Little Spain Market at Hudson Yards is a delicious way to spend an Oscars night. The restaurant invites guests to cheer for the victory of their favorite stars with sangria in their hands. Guests will be offered to learn how to drink from a porron, a glass jug similar to a watering can, which is used to distribute wine. For $29, you can choose a drink, get a lesson in porron, and take home this drinking vessel.
