Farmers' Almanac has released a highly anticipated forecast for summer 2021, and New York's weather is forecast to be rainy and then very hot from mid-summer to the end of the season. Writes about it Patch.
Astronomical Summer officially begins on Sunday, June 20, which is also Father's Day.
Summer temperatures are forecast to rise above normal in about two-thirds of the state, especially in the south and east. In the northeast, rain and heat are expected by mid to late summer.
Typically, the hottest summer weather occurs in late July and early August. This year, the highest temperatures can be in late August and early September.

The likelihood of severe storms will also be higher than usual.
“Most of the state will have more than average thunderstorms,” almanac editor Peter Geiger said in a press release. "Many of these storms can be quite severe, especially in the eastern part of the country."
While summer thunderstorms are common, more storms predicted are unusual.
Farmers' Almanac's prediction formula takes into account things like sunspot activity, the tidal action of the moon, planetary positions, and a host of other factors. Editors say they use a robust set of rules dating back to 1818 and developed by David Young, the publication's first editor.
