June New York City Service Exams open: This month, for the first time in 8 years, you can take a test for a very popular profession

The New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) has released the June Public Service Exam Application Schedule. Open comparative computer tests are held every month for various positions, reports Silive.
The DCAS Computer Testing and Application Centers, where exams are taken, have reopened to the public. However, due to the ongoing pandemic COVID-19 all appointments must be scheduled in the Online Application System (OASys).
Applications for this month's tests began on June 8 for the following positions:
- junior human rights specialist;
- Auto Mechanic;
- auto mechanic (CUNY);
- auto mechanic (diesel);
- child protection specialist;
- nutritionist (NYC H +H);
- automotive electrician;
- inspector (hoists and rigging);
- police communications technician;
- sanitary worker;
- welder.
The sanitation worker exam is one of the most popular public service tests.
This position was last available in 2014.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent to apply for a New York City Sanitation Worker position. There are also certain medical, physical and age requirements.
A sanitation worker in New York City prepares and operates various types of equipment involved in street cleaning, waste collection, recycling collection, snow removal, trash removal, and waste disposal.
Many are eager to work because of decent salaries. Overtime pay increased the annual wages of some Department of Sanitation workers to almost $300. According to the data, the highest paid sanitation worker, supervisor, earned $000 in fiscal year 299-160. Of these, $2020 is from overtime work.
