From New York to London in an hour: the British plan to launch a 'space' plane

The UK Space Agency has announced the creation of a "space plane". The aircraft uses a SABER (Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine) engine and is equipped with a sophisticated cooling system far superior to those found on modern aircraft. SABER is a hybrid rocket and aircraft engine powered by a combination of oxygen and hydrogen. According to scientists, traveling on aircraft with such engines is more environmentally friendly and cheaper than current air travel.

Little is known about the design of the aircraft itself. The company aims to create a vehicle that is fuel efficient, something like a jet engine with rocket power. The developers of the hypersonic aircraft are inspired by the technologies of Rolls-Royce, BAR Systems, Boeing and want to create an aircraft that can superfast deliver people or cargo to and from space at low cost.
