How a Kiev woman became a Vogue stylist in New York and creates images of world stars for the red carpet

Stylist Sasha Nesterchuk from Kyiv there is something to thank fate and New York for. As well as the film and fashion stars who have surrounded her throughout her 30-year career. But now she does not forget about her hometown and her native country for a single minute, reports “Voice of America".
“When you come up with something for yourself, you have to think of the most impracticable. Things that no one would ever think you could do in your life. I wanted to do a job that brought great pleasure. That is, if they didn’t feed you, didn’t give you anything, you still wanted to work, ”admits hair and make-up stylist Sasha Nesterchuk.
Sasha was born in Kyiv, lives in New York and works all over the world. She has been in America for 30 years, and she is much more accustomed to speaking English. The woman recalls her childhood with a smile. Even then, a love for what she has been doing for the past decades was born in her.
“When I was a little girl, my grandmother shaved my head. And I had to go to school like that. It seems to me that this was a very strong shock, - Sasha recalls. My mother cut off her luxurious hair. And her braid was tied like a chignon to hairpins. I took this braid and tied it to a scarf, which I tied on my head. I decorated it, put on it different hairpins, bows. It seems to me that from that moment I manifested this creativity. Because I had to somehow hide the fact that I was bald.”

Sasha has a penchant for creativity since childhood. The girl's mother went to the school meeting in the first grade. The teacher told her that Sashenka was a nice attentive girl. But she would like Sasha to be more attentive to the lessons, and not to her hair and lipstick. The first-grader told the teacher how best to wear her hair: to collect or let her hair down. Advised what color of lipstick to use.
The popular image maker has worked with many celebrities
Sasha styled Kate Moss's hair for an ad in Saudi Arabia, she was one of the models. And so it turned out that her birthday on January 16 coincided with the birthday of the stylist's son. There was also a photo shoot with Naomi Campbell in '96 when she was at the peak of her career popularity. The wayward model made Sasha cry at the end of the photo shoot.
“I said that I would never work with her in my life. Less than 10 years later, I was recommended to work with her. And I worked with her for a year, ”says the stylist.
Her work has been recognized as a trend setting for Vogue France and Vogue Usa. Sasha has published in Vogue US, Vogue FR, Vogue Mexico, Vogue China, L'omo Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Intermission, Oyster to name but a few.
She also worked at Fashion Shows in New York and around the world for 20 years. This is a lot of stress. The woman says that she really liked doing all this when she was younger. And now I want something else.
“Yes, I collect a lot of models or celebrities on the red carpet. Vanessa Redgrave, when I worked with her, introduced me to all of Hollywood. Lauren Baccol, Timati Dawson, Uma Thurman came to her backstage. Chatted with everyone. Al Pacino came to the backstage. I saw him for the first time and thought: “How small and how much energy he has!”. Six months later, I worked with him.”
