Now many people leave New York for another state or for cheaper suburbs. Moving is not easy, but you also need to remember about changing the address in the official government agencies. In the event of a change of residence, the person must report this in order to receive further mail or, for example, state benefits.
How to change your address in the US Postal Service:
- do it online by following the link USPS.com/move... This is the most convenient and fastest way. You will receive a confirmation email immediately;
- go to the local Postal office and ask the Movers Guide;
- you can contact the United States Postal Service (USPS) to request temporarily change your address or keep your mail.
How to change your address through other government agencies:
Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Contact the IRS to change your address if you are expecting a tax refund or other mail. You can also change your address with the IRS by entering your new address in the appropriate fields on your tax return when filing.
Social Security Administration (SSA). Change the address on the Internet using your account Social Securityif you get a Social Security pension, disability benefit, or Medicare charge. If you are not getting Social Security or Medicare benefits, contact SSA.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Contact the VA if you are a veteran receiving benefits or simply want to update your details.
