It is gradually getting warmer outside, but not yet hot - an ideal time for outdoor recreation. If you get lost in the variety of parks in New York, the state has created a very handy website that will help you find exactly what you need, please your friends, and make your trip much more convenient.
Choose and book a camping or other activity
Already on the first page newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com you will see a small window for quick selection of the park. Simply enter your area of interest in New York State and your preferred activity, and the site will show you a list of suitable parks.
The site also has a tab. Camping This Weekend. It contains all the camping sites (trailers, tents and cabins) available for the nearest weekend in New York parks. You can read their description, find out prices and book. The filter for each specific place allows you to change the dates, so it can be booked for other days, and not just for the next weekend.

It can be used to book campsites, golf courses and park entrance fees. OPRHP (Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation) Gift Card is valid at over 8500 campsites and 26 golf courses.
The DEC card can be used at all 52 campsites located in the Adirondacks and Catskills. It can pay for camping, entrance to the park, as well as the rental of camping equipment.
Convenient application
The New York State Parks Authority has launched a mobile app for nature lovers. The Parks Explorer App is a free app for iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded here.
The application has up-to-date information about New York parks, including route maps, opening hours, cost of services and useful tips.
Campsites and other services can be booked through the Parks Explorer App. The application also has offline route maps that will not let you get lost, even if you do not have access to the Internet.
