Free Car Cinema Opens at New York Beach: Schedule

In New York there will be several open-air cinemas. One of them can be visited for free throughout July. This publication writes Time-out.
The holding of typical film festivals this year is unlikely due to the current situation in the health sector. But there is good news for New Yorkers — Tribeca Enterprises, co-founded by American actor, director and producer Robert De Niro, is launching a new version of the summer film festival.
Film screenings will be organized at Orchard Beach in the Bronx and Nickerson Beach in Nassau County, and also on Long Island. On Orchard Beach, all impressions will be free.
Open air cinemas will begin to receive visitors in July. Cinema fans and just people who want to have a good summer evening can do this from Thursday to Sunday, from July 2 to August 2.
New films as well as classic works by various directors will be shown on the big screen. “The Tribeca Drive-In Series is a tribute to films and the overall experience of watching them, even from our cars,” said Robert De Niro.

Now IMAX specialists are working to improve the image quality on huge screens, as well as sound. IMAX also collaborates with Tribeca Enterprises, the latter giving the company access to its film library.
Orchard Beach can hold up to 500 cars, while Nickerson Beach has about 250.

On the first night of the cinema on Nickerson Beach, screenings will also be free. For all subsequent evenings, an admission ticket will cost $ 26 (per vehicle).
According to the organizer, all proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to the Black Lives Matter movement.
