The holiday season has officially begun in New York. On November 12, Rockefeller Center's iconic Christmas tree arrived at the Big Apple. Fox News.
Despite light rain on Saturday, about 100 people watched as a huge Norwegian fir tree was hoisted into place near Rockefeller Plaza.
The tree is about 90 years old and comes from Queensbury, New York.

Ignition ceremony Christmas tree is scheduled for November 30th.
Neil Lebowitz, whose family donated the tree this year, is sure everyone will love the tree.
“For me, it was just a beautiful tree,” Lebowitz said. Now this is a special tree. Everyone can enjoy it."

When the Christmas tree is fully decorated, 50 multi-colored light bulbs will be lit on it. And crowned with a star covered with three million Swarovski crystals.
You will be able to watch a live national broadcast of “Rockefeller Center Christmas” on NBC.
After November 30, the tree will be lit daily from 6:00 to 24:00. At Christmas, the tree will sparkle for 24 hours. And on New Year's Eve - from 6:00 to 21:00.
After the holidays, the tree will be chopped into lumber for donation to Habitat for Humanity.
