New Year's Eve fans say you can't put a price on the chance to see the wishing ball drop in Times Square on Dec. 31. But entrepreneurs and restaurateurs did just that - they set the maximum price for the opportunity to celebrate the New Year with a view of Times Square. CBSNews has compiled a list of places that offer affordable ways to kick off 2024. The prices of some of them are off the charts.

Hotels and restaurants near One Times Square, home of the famous Times Square Ball, offer exclusive New Year's Eve party packages, with tickets ranging from $450 to $12, typically including food, drinks and entertainment.

Although attending the world-famous show is completely free for those watching from the street, some people are willing to pay a pretty penny for tickets to the party in comfort.

Olive Garden

At Olive Garden, located in Times Square, New Year's lovers can ring in 2024 at slightly more modest prices than other chain restaurants and hotels - just $450.

Ticket price includes buffet, open bar, live entertainment and free champagne at midnight. However, according to the event organizers, they do not guarantee the opportunity to see the ball fall.

Applebee's

Partygoers have the opportunity to ring in the New Year at one of two Applebee's restaurants in Times Square. Ticket prices start at $799.

The New Year's package includes: a buffet, music and DJ, party favors, champagne and an open bar “Top shelf”, which is open from 19:00 to midnight, as well as an escort outside to see the ball drop.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Bubba Gump is another restaurant chain that offers the chance to watch the ball drop at incredibly high prices. The restaurant’s website says that the all-inclusive ticket price is $1. The ticket price includes: entertainment, gifts for guests, champagne and a buffet.

The Knickerbocker Hotel, part of The Leading Hotels of the World, is throwing a glamorous rooftop party just 45 meters from the Times Square Ball. Ticket prices range from $1 to $995 depending on the package.

The Knickerbocker's NYE ​​Platinum Party package includes a cocktail party, a dance floor with a DJ, and a banquet dinner with caviar, seafood and baked meats. At the end of the evening, guests will raise glasses of Dom Pérignon champagne.

Marriott Marquis

The Marriott Marquis offers New Year's Eve rates ranging from $1 to $350 depending on the package.

The Prime VIP Couple's Package, which costs $12 for two, guarantees floor-to-ceiling seats overlooking Times Square. Other perks include a bottle of champagne, butler and cloakroom service, snacks, access to an open bar and a buffet dinner.
