A man who was shot dead by his mother during a fight outside their Brooklyn home breathlessly told arriving police officers, "My mother shot me, I'm dying." He died from his wounds, police said on November 8. New York Post.
Christopher Jenkins, 28, began arguing with his mother, Vanessa Jenkins, 44, outside their home in Crown Heights around 21:50 p.m. on October 12. As a result, the woman pulled out a gun and shot her son twice in the head.
When the police arrived at the scene, the wounded man said, "My mother shot me, I'm dying."
He was rushed to the center of Kings County Hospital in critical condition. There, doctors kept him on life support. The man died on October 24.
According to the authorities, his death was qualified as murder.
Vanessa Jenkins was arrested the day after the shooting. She was charged with attempted murder, illegal possession of a weapon, and illegal possession of a firearm.

She claims it was self-defense. Her son, a suspected Crips gang member, allegedly choked her before she fired. It is not clear what sparked the dispute, which became fatal.
The victim had 16 previous arrests, including for robbery, the sources said.
The Brooklyn District Attorney's office said the mother was released on bail of $500 in cash or $000 million in bonds at the time of her arraignment.
A spokesman for the prosecutor's office could not comment on whether the charges against the mother would change when her son died.
