A bear broke into a home in New York State after being scared away by a brave dog who immediately became a social media star

A curious bear has snuck into a house in Chatham, New York. But a brave pet dog and the landlord quickly kicked the animal out. The incident was even caught on camera. Writes about it WNYT.

The video shows the bear roaming Stephanie Behrens' backyard in Chatham. Then he climbs curiously up onto the terrace.

Behrens left the back door to the terrace ajar so her dog Harper could come out for a walk. It was then that the black bear noticed the gap, took the opportunity and entered directly into the kitchen. Without hesitation, he headed straight for the dog food.

Harper sniffed out what was happening, ran into the kitchen, barked desperately and frightened off the intruder.

Berens quickly slammed the door, and the bear wandered back into the forest.
