New York city council looking for 'killer instinct' rat master to be paid $170 a year

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is willing to pay a man with a "violent hatred of vermin" $170 a year to play the Big Apple's new rat king, reports CBS News.
“There is nothing I hate more than rats,” Adams said on social media Dec. 1. “If you have the drive, determination, and killer instinct to fight New York’s rat population, then you have the job of your dreams.”

Experience in urban planning, project management, or government work will qualify for the position. According to the announcement, the created position pays between $120 and $000 per year.

The leadership position of director of rat control requires endurance. “The ideal candidate is highly motivated and somewhat bloodthirsty,” the job description says.
Additional requirements for the candidate: you must be a resident of the city for at least 90 days, have a bachelor's degree and relevant experience, as well as "a fighting character, a sense of humor and a general halo of coolness."
