Metallica, Mariah Carey And The Jonas Brothers To Play A Free Concert In New York This Fall

New Yorkers, get ready to rock! The Global Citizen Festival returns to Central Park next month with an all-star cast. This year, September 24 will mark the XNUMXth anniversary of the non-profit organization's annual anti-poverty event. New York Post.

This year's top three headliners are a dynamic mix. These are the rock band Metallica, R&B singer Mariah Carey and the pop trio The Jonas Brothers.

Additional performers will include popular singer Charlier Puth, Latin American artist Rosalia, country music artist Mickey Guyton and Italian stars Maneskin.

Actress and model Priyanka Chopra will host the charity live music evening in the park. By the way, she is married to one of the headliners of the concert, Nick Jonas.

Since the first Global Citizen festival in 2012, rockfest has increased its focus on global issues such as poverty, education and climate change.

While tickets are free, as with all Global Citizen events, those wishing to purchase them, should take action on key issues of the non-profit organization.

With the ongoing economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's looming war on Ukraine, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans acknowledges the concert comes at a more critical time than ever.

“These are pressing issues,” he said. “That's why our campaign is focused on ending extreme poverty now—not next year, not one year from now, but right now. We must address the most important issues, whether it be gender inequality, climate change, or the structural issues that keep people poor.”

Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas commented on the need to fight for international values. And praised Global Citizen for their commitment to holding world leaders to account.

“If we are going to do anything about this, then we need an urgent mobilization,” Chopra Jonas told the publication.

Nonprofit uses concert as platform for citizens to demand change

For example, to force the US to donate more to fight climate change. And raise $500 million in donations for farmers in Africa so they no longer have to rely on wheat and fertilizer from Ukraine and Russia.
