A Bronx man was arrested for taking a dying girl to Queens Hospital, two hours away. He could have taken her to the emergency room less than a mile from home, though. The details of the story were told by the publication NYDailyNews.

Three-year-old Jaylinne Evans passed out after spending the night in her best friend's grandfather's apartment in Mott Haven and later died at the Children's Medical Center in Little Neck.

The cops arrested 59-year-old Anthony Richardson about three hours after he arrived at the hospital, but the mother of the deceased child believes that the man is not to blame.

Lloyd last saw her daughter alive on Wednesday, September 23rd, when she allowed Jaylynn to sleep with Richardson's 4-year-old granddaughter at his home in the Bronx. She gave her daughter a medicine for her temperature (the girl had a slight fever) and the child seemed to feel better.

However, the overnight stay turned into a tragedy - Jaylinn went out for breakfast in the morning and lost consciousness.

“The daughter fell and closed her eyes. And then Anthony took her to the doctor. He said that this is the only good children's hospital he knew, ”said the child's mother.

Doctors from Queens Hospital called the police at around 19:15 pm and reported that Richardson had brought a sick child from his home in remote Mott Haven.

Richardson, who lives less than a mile from Lincoln Medical Center, told police that two little girls were watching TV and eating snacks when Jaylynne unexpectedly fell to the floor.
