A winter storm is approaching New York: where to expect snow

Heavy snow is expected in parts of New York and New Jersey on December 15, according to forecasts. Ice or rain is possible in the rest of the region, according to Fox 5.
“The coastal storm is expected to bring all kinds of bad weather to the region from Thursday morning until Friday,” the National Weather Service said at a briefing.
Where will it snow
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 16:00 pm Friday to 10:00 am Saturday for western Ulster County. In Sullivan County, a winter storm warning is in effect from 10 am to 19 pm Friday. Other parts of New York State, as well as parts of New Jersey, have also issued a winter weather warning.

New York Hourly Snowfall Forecasts
Wet weather will spread across the region from the southwest to the northeast. In most cases, wet weather will set in by mid-morning, around 10 am on January 15th.
The National Weather Service reported that on the morning of December 15 on I-95, the danger of freezing rain increases during morning trips.
Probable rainfall for New York
Most parts of New York City will experience rain as the coastal low temperatures approach. But sleet will pass in some areas northwest of the city. It can be quite intense at times.
Higher elevations in western Orange County may receive 15 inches or more of snow in places.
Downed tree limbs and power lines are possible in the area, the National Weather Service said in a statement.
In eastern Orange County, New York and western Passaic County, New Jersey, 2 to 15 centimeters of wet snow can fall. Its greatest amount is expected at the highest sites.
Elsewhere in northwestern New Jersey, 5 inches of snow could fall. Moreover, at higher altitudes, more precipitation is possible. There is also likely to be light ice.
Up to 3 inches of snow could fall in Rockland, Putnam, and northern Westchester, New York.
In the Big Apple and its immediate suburbs, weather forecasters predict from 2 to 6 centimeters of precipitation.
