New York State has the fastest growing Amish and Mennonite population in the US. There is a small town in our region where you can immerse yourself in the original Mennonite and Amish culture. It's called Penn Yan and it's a 5 hour drive from New York City. Penn Yan is north of Keuka Lake. About 5 people live in the town. In the late 000th century, many Amish and Mennonite families began to acquire farmland in the area.
