Summer Rising 2024: how to enroll your child in a free summer camp in New York

In the spring, parents begin to rack their brains over how to fill their children’s summer holidays with not only interesting, but also useful activities. The free Summer Rising program is a real salvation for moms and dads. Registration for the program in 2024 has already opened.
In the free program Summer Rising 2024 Children from kindergarten through eighth grade from all five boroughs in the city can participate. Families should apply by March 25 using their MySchools account. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the program in mid-April.
The program runs from July 2 to August 16 from 08:00 to 18:00 for children in kindergarten through fifth grade and from 08:00 to 16:00 for high school students. In the mornings, students attend academic classes, and in the afternoons they engage in art, sports and go on excursions. Meals are provided.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said his administration has invested $80 million in additional funding for summer programs for schoolchildren this year. Up to 110 students from kindergarten through eighth grade will have the opportunity to attend Summer Rising camps.
The Department of Education is conducting series of webinars for families to learn more about this program. The next meeting is scheduled for March 12 and 14.
