The best city in the US to find love is located in New York State

Rochester has been named the best city for dates in 2025. It ranked first in the U.S. thanks to the second-highest rate of single residents—682 out of 1000 people—and “rich opportunities for social connections like few other cities.”

Accessibility is important—and so is quality of life. The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Rochester is $857. Nearly 90% of the population lives within a 10-minute walk of a green space.

Buffalo ranked No. 6 overall, slightly beating Rochester for "interest in dating." Interest in dating was determined by Google search volumes across dating apps Tinder, Bumble, Grindr, and Hinge.

Only two other cities from the Empire State made the list: New York City ranked 59th overall (largely due to its high cost of living), and Yonkers ranked 76th due to its poor dating ranking.
