On January 22, a man raped a 5-year-old girl on Staten Island. He was arrested, reports Silive.
Dominic Giles, 30, of Madison Avenue in Manhattan, has been charged with sexual assault.
Police said Giles was killed on January 22 raped victim at the intersection of Richmond Terrace and Sharp Avenue. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The mother of the 5-year-old girl told investigators that she caught Giles at the scene of the crime.
Rapist her daughter attacked her as she tried to call 911.

Giles pleaded not guilty in the case and was remanded in custody pending trial.
On February 5, the criminal court issued a full protection order against the girl, her mother and another child who allegedly witnessed the attack on the mother.
Queens defense attorney Paul Testaverde has asked for his client to be placed on house arrest or at least posted bail of no more than $100 at 000% interest. The defense says his client is a responsible father.
Assistant District Attorney Rhiannon La Tour suggested that the defendant may flee, as law enforcement had great difficulty finding and arresting him.
Despite the seriousness of the charges, Testaverde believes that "Giles should be able to fight this case as a free man, not in prison."
The attorney described his client as the primary breadwinner of two children. Testaverde said his client has been working on a computer at home for some time. He spent most of his life in New York and worked for many years as a security guard.
The accused has a criminal record related to robbery.
After hearing both sides on the matter, Judge Biju J. Koshy set bail at $750, or $000 cash. The criminal court case was adjourned until February 250.
The family of the accused in court
On February 5, many of Giles' family members came to court to support him, including his mother, sisters and cousins.
The defendant did not communicate with his family and did not turn to face them during the trial.
His answer to a question about whether he understood the charges against him was unintelligible.
The judge asked the defendant to repeat his answer. Giles remained calm throughout the hearing.
If convicted, Giles faces five to 25 years in prison on the main charge and the possibility of additional time on the lesser charge.
The mother tried to call 911
It all happened on the morning of January 22. The victim's mother told police that she found Giles with her daughter at a house in Port Richmond.
According to the mother, Giles pulled his pants down to his ankles and wrapped his arms around the victim's waist. The mother claims her daughter's pants were also pulled down.
When the defendant realized he had been caught, he attacked the woman and choked her because she was trying to dial 911.
The woman began vomiting and was unable to speak to the emergency operator.
Giles took the woman's phone and disappeared.
Officers eventually responded to the call and the girl was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
Hunting for the criminal
Following the alleged attack, the NYPD released a photo of Giles to help locate him.
Police tried to trace the accused's phone calls, but were unable to reach him.
It wasn't until February 3 that Giles' attorney arranged for a voluntary arrest at the Staten Island Special Investigators' office in St. George.
The arrest was scheduled for the morning of February 4. Instead, police with a warrant grabbed Giles from an East Harlem apartment building.
"The accused did not seem to be giving in," said prosecutor La Tour.
Police were able to track down the accused using receipts from a local bank and CashApp, which allowed them to track his spending.
