Autumn is making its way more confidently through New York City's parks and neighborhoods. The air is getting cooler, and the leaves are starting to change color. SecretNYC tells about the best farms near the city, where you can wander through intricate mazes, pick pumpkins and apples, ride a hay wagon, and sample seasonal treats.
The city offers plenty of activities to help you get into the autumn spirit. But nothing symbolizes October quite like a corn maze. From spacious 4-hectare routes to mini-mazes for kids, farm offer plenty of fun and treats, including pumpkin picking, hay rides, and, of course, apple cider donuts.
Queens County Farm Museum - Queens
- Where: 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy, Queens.
The Amazing Maize Maze is back at the Queens County Farm Museum this year. It's open until October 26th.

This year's theme was celebrating the museum's 50th anniversary as a public institution. The number "50" is carved into the center of the 1,2-hectare labyrinth.
Guests They can walk along the route, solve puzzles, find clues and look for a way out of the “living labyrinth”.
The labyrinth is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 16:00 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for children. Children under 3 are admitted free.

Stony Hill Farms - Edison, New Jersey

Stony Hill Farm, dubbed "New Jersey's Largest Corn Maze," covers 4 acres and is one of the top entertainment destinations in the Northeast.
The maze is full of winding paths and bridges. Visitors can try to escape the New Jersey-themed route. Other activities include apple, pumpkin, and vegetable picking, gem mining, a rope maze, the Barnyard Board Game, weekend wagon rides, apple cannons, a playground, and snacks.
Tickets start at $20. $25 includes access to the maze and the U-pick program. The season is now open.

Argos Farm - Forked River, New Jersey

Harbes Family Farm - Long Island

Harbes Farm offers three different locations and three different mazes.
The Wizard of Oz maze is open in Mattituck. Robin Hood mazes are open in Jamesport and Riverhead. All are now welcoming guests.
Additionally, on Saturdays in October and one Sunday, the farm will transform the garden into a "Night Terror Maze."

This year's Kelder's Farm maze theme is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the New York State Future Farmers of America (NYS FFA).
There are acres of corn maze here. A portion of every ticket sale goes to support the local Rondout Valley NYS FFA chapter.
In addition to the maze, visitors can enjoy over 30 other attractions, including cart rides, pumpkin picking, a petting zoo, and more.

The corn maze at F&W Schmitt Farm covers 2,8 hectares and has long been legendary. This year, its theme is "The Loch Ness Monster."

Every year, Hank's Pumpkintown chooses a theme for its design, and this year it's dedicated to CMA Entertainer of the Year winner Laini Wilson.

This season, the Adventure Labyrinth will feature a new game. It will test guests' knowledge of Lanie Wilson songs. Winners will have a chance to win a set of four tickets for the 2026 season.
