The graphic designer for one of the merch versions, Michael, mentioned the nickname that some people online have started using to refer to the shooter: The Adjuster.
"If we're going to give him a cool superhero name, I think he needs a cool superhero logo," Michael concluded in the video.
He flipped and redesigned the UnitedHealthcare logo, adding A and words Deny, Defend and Depose.
Michael sells the design on two different t-shirts and two sweatshirts on Etsy. He received more than two dozen orders in less than 24 hours. It is his best-selling design.
“I personally don’t support violence, but I am outraged that their entire business is making money off of people suffering and dying,” Michael said of the health insurance industry and the reasons he created the design. “I think health care should be free. A lot of people think so too. We are tired of nothing being done.”
He was not at all surprised that the printing industry was profiting from what he called the "anti-capitalist movement."
Michael admitted that he was inspired to create the design after seeing a flood of content on TikTok. People imagine the shooter as both a hero and a criminal.
"I always wondered why people supported guys who robbed trains. Then you realize how corrupt the banks are, and then it all makes sense," Michael concluded. "It says something about society: we can identify with a murderer more than we can with a billionaire and his family."
