Win Son Bakery
- Where: 23 2nd Ave New York, New York 10003.
- Opening: early spring.
Institution Win Son Bakery in East Williamsburg still draws lines for its mochi doughnuts, fan tuan and scallion pancakes. The restaurant has finally got a new a place. The first Manhattan location will open on 2nd Avenue just above Houston, serving Taiwanese-American cuisine nearly identical to the original.
High Life
- Where: 135 1st Ave New York, New York 1000.
- Opening: end of February.
Electric Burrito Expands Burger Range: SoCal-Style Mini-Chain Launches New project in the East Village, High Life, which specializes in thin-patty burgers on potato buns. Other offerings include dill pickle fries and a queso dog with chips.
Golden HOF
- Where: 16 W 48th St New York, New York 10036.
- Opening: end of February.
Command Golden dinner is bringing an old-school Korean-style pub to 48th Street. The focus will be on the drinks. Their selection will range from Asian craft beers to bingsu milk punch, but the food won’t be an afterthought. Expect buldak dumplings with melted truffle pecorino and a crispy bacon-kimchi pancake served with ranch.

NY Kimchi
- Where: 16 W 48th St New York, New York 10036.
- Opening: end of February.
In the basement of the same building as the Golden HOF, the same people are launching NY Kimchi. It will be a Korean raw food bar and steakhouse. They plan to cook Oysters Rockefeller with kimchi and sesame oil, a Seoul seafood tower, and a hanger steak drizzled with brown doenjang butter.
Banh Anh Em
- Where: 99 Third Ave New York, New York 10003.
- Opening: early March.
This is the best Vietnamese place on the Upper West Side. Banh Anh Em from the Bánh team will be serving food inspired in part by the chef's motorbike travels around Vietnam. Expect homemade noodle pho and Hai Phong-style bánh mì ké.
Bartolo
- Where: 310 W Fourth St New York, New York 10014.
- Opening: early April.
They started out making Basque food on the Lower East Side. Now the people behind Ernesto's are opening tavern Madrid-style restaurant in the West Village. The restaurant will pay homage to the area around 14th Street, formerly known as Little Spain.
Maison Passerelle
- Where: 1 Wall St New York, New York 10005.
- Opening: early April.
Kent Hospitality Group (Saga, Time & Tide) are partners with five new food and beverage outlets at Parisian luxury retailer Printemps, opening at 1 Wall Street. The group also includes a fine dining restaurant Maison PaserelleFrom the chef behind Portland's Kann, the restaurant will serve dishes inspired by Cambodia, Haiti, Vietnam, and more. Try the duck confit with West African-style spinach ragout, and lemongrass endive with fish sauce.
birdie
- Where: 300 Kent Ave New York, New York 11249.
- Opening: early April.
A 24-hour spot, also owned by Kent Hospitality Group, is opening on the Williamsburg waterfront, featuring baked goods from an Eleven Madison Park and Saga alum. birdie will offer croissants, cookies and brioches, as well as breakfast burritos, salads and sandwiches.
Babysips
- Where: 176 Rivington St New York, New York 10002.
- Opening: May.
Babysips will be New York City's first official "working-class wine bar." David Wilson and his partner Zoe Clifton are behind the upcoming Lower East Side establishment, which will serve wine and food inspired by the couple's time spent in Spain and Brazil.
I Cavallini
- Where: 284 Grand St New York, New York 11211.
- Opening: May.
As it approaches its 10th anniversary, one of New York City’s most popular restaurants is ready to expand. I Cavallini in Williamsburg will serve Italian food with an Italian-inspired wine list to match. There will also be a full bar program that will go beyond wine. The space will have nearly twice the seating capacity of its sister restaurant, located directly across the street.
Lex Yard
- Where: 540 Lexington Ave New York, New York 10017.
- Opening: late spring.
Waldorf Astoria will soon be transformed into a two-story venue serving seasonal American cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the space will feature Art Deco touches, with a bar on the ground floor and a dining room upstairs featuring fluted columns and parquet floors.
Chateau Royale
- Where: 205 Thompson St New York, New York 10012.
- Opening: late spring.
Chateau Royale from the owner of Libertine is an homage to La Grenouille. Set in a split-level Greenwich Village townhouse, the restaurant will be a love letter to classic New York French restaurants, with an all-French wine list and cocktail program. The ground floor will feature a bar in the style of the famous Kronenhalle in Zurich and Harry's New York Bar in Paris. One floor up, you'll find a 50-seat dining room with velvet banquettes.
