In April bar Temple Bar in New York City will host a two-day 1990s-themed event. Guests will be immersed in a nostalgic atmosphere with period cocktails, music, and a social media-free format. The event will take visitors back to a time when nightlife was more spontaneous and analog.

Temple Bar will host a two-day '1990s throwback on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18.

The bar is located in the NoHo neighborhood, having opened on Lafayette Street in 1989. For the event, the space will return to its heyday. Back then, nightlife was more spontaneous, less ostentatious, and far less reliant on digital technology.

The event is called "A Love Letter to '90s New York: Revisited." It's being organized in collaboration with Page Six, which once covered just such a scene.

The atmosphere of a living time capsule

Over the weekend, the space will be transformed into what the organizers call a "living time capsule." The lighting will be dim, and oversized martini glasses will be featured throughout the space.

The space itself will feel more like a memory than a themed pop-up.

Cocktails from the 1990s

The menu perfectly matches the evening's atmosphere. Guests will be offered cocktails from the 1990s:

• Cosmopolitan;
• Midori Sour, renamed The Club Kid;
• Lychee Martini;
• classic dirty martini.

Music and Polaroids

DJ Vidal and DJ Tokyo Rose will be playing 1990s music and tracks in a similar style. Sets will be held every evening starting at 22:00 PM.

Staff are ready to roam the room with Polaroid cameras and take live photos of guests.
