The eight-day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah begins this year on Sunday, December 14. New York City offers a variety of ways to celebrate. JTA tells about the best of them.
The city is home to fairs, family-friendly concerts, and parties where adults can dance the night away. Here's a comprehensive list of Hanukkah celebrations throughout New York City.

Every evening in celebration The world's largest menorahs will be publicly lit at Grant Army Plaza in Manhattan and Grant Army Plaza in Brooklyn.
Pre-holiday events
December 5–12: View 35 unique menorahs at Christie's
Christie's Rockefeller Center (20 Rockefeller Plaza) is currently exhibiting 35 unique and historic Hanukkah menorahs for sale. Prices start at $5000. Learn more. here.
December 6: Annual a cappella concert of the Torah
Town and Village Synagogue, a Conservative congregation located at 334 East 14th St., will host its 37th annual Cantor Louis Moss Memorial Concert. The concert begins at 19:30 p.m. This year's event is called "Hanukkah Concert: Songs of Peace and Harmony." Cantor Shayna Postman, the synagogue choir, and other performers will perform.

December 6–7: Hanukkah Bazaar Tablet Magazine
Canyon Essex (135 Delancey St.) will host Tablet Magazine's annual Hanukkah Bazaar. More than 40 vendors will offer a variety of food, jewelry, dreidels, and other goods. The bazaar will be open Saturday, December 6, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday, December 19, from 22:00 AM to 18:00 PM. Admission is $18. Learn more. here.
December 7: Chanukah Wonderland by Complete Playground
Join the magical pre-Hanukkah fun in the heart of New York City (30 Broad Street)!
Guests will decorate donuts, create crafts (to take home as souvenirs), listen to and tell stories, search for the missing jug of oil, jump on a trampoline, participate in active games, and light the menorah. Of course, the celebration wouldn't be complete without gelt (traditional chocolate coins given to children at Hanukkah) and a game of dreidel.

December 7: Hanukkah Market Havurah
Congregation Rodeph Shalom (7 West 83rd St.) will host a Hanukkah market, curated by the Jewish arts group Havurah. The market will feature food and crafts. Hours are 14:00 PM to 19:00 PM. Admission is free, but registration is required. Details: here.

December 13: Hanukkah Choir
At 20:00 p.m., Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center (129 West 67th St.) will host two ensembles: Zamir Chorale (the premier Jewish choir in North America) and Zamir Noded (a choir of young professionals).
The program includes a concert that will “celebrate Hanukkah, Jewish independence, resilience and hope.”

December 13: Underground Hanukkah Disco
Havurah will transform the legendary Astor Place Hairstylists (2 Astor Pl.) into an underground 1980s-themed Hanukkah club. Guests will hear funk, soul, house, and disco. The event will run from 21:00 PM to 01:00 AM.

First night - Sunday, December 14
Chanukah Extravaganzukah from 92NY
At 92NY's Kaufmann Concert Hall (1395 Lexington Ave.), the family-friendly event Chanukah Extravaganzukah will take place at 10:30 a.m. The program includes an interactive performance by the Israeli dance troupe Parparim. After the show, guests will enjoy sufganiyot doughnuts, potato latkes, crafts, and games. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under 2 are free. Learn more. here.
Jazzukah in Greenwich Village

Family Hanukkah Day at the Jewish Museum

The ninth annual Chanukastravaganza
A Hanukkah benefit show for Jews for Racial and Economic Justice will take place at 19:30 PM at the Brooklyn Art Haus (24 Marcy Ave.). Jewish New York comedians, including Lana Schwartz, Ilana Michelle Carmi, and Ofira Eisenberg, will perform. Guests can expect songs, surprises, and Hanukkah gelt coins. Tickets are $23,18. Hanukkah Speakeasy with Kehillat Harlem

Hanukkah Party at Russ & Daughters
On the second night of Hanukkah, Russ & Daughters Café (127 Orchard St.) will host a festive program. The menu includes a latkes bar, "favorite snacks," sufganiyot doughnuts, and drinks, including non-alcoholic options. There will also be a menorah lighting. The event begins at 18:30 PM. 54 Celebrates Hanukkah: A Festival of Writers
At Broadway's 54 Below (254 West 54th St.), Jewish musical theater writers will present original Hanukkah songs performed by Broadway actors. Performances are at 19:00 PM and 21:00 PM.

Third night - Tuesday, December 16
Judaica Collection Exhibition at Temple Emanu-El
At 11:00 a.m., Temple Emanu-El (1 East 65th St.) will host a tour of the menorah collection. The program will be led by the Reform congregation's museum curator. More information is available. here.
Hanukkah on Ice at Wollman Rink
Chanukkah on Ice returns to Wollman Rink in Central Park. The event runs from 18:00 PM to 21:00 PM. Guests will skate to live Jewish music and interact with a life-size dreidel. Hot drinks, food, and a menorah lighting are included. Tickets start at $30. Learn more. here.
Zusha Concert
Hasidic folk band Zusha, featuring electronic music, will perform a Hanukkah concert at The Altneu, an Orthodox synagogue located at 107 East 70th St. The event is co-sponsored by SAM School. The Great Chanukah Doughnut Duel 2025
The Moxy Williamsburg (353 Bedford Ave.) will host its annual Hanukkah doughnut competition at 19:00 PM. Guests will sample sufganiyot from various renowned chefs and choose the best.

SNL's Hanukkah Concert at the JCC
The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan (334 Amsterdam Ave.) will host a Saturday Night Live-themed musical comedy show from 19:00 PM to 20:15 PM. Singer-songwriter Romy Hanoch will perform. Fifth Night - Thursday, December 18
Hanukkah Party with East Side Quartet and the National Council of Jewish Women
The National Council of Jewish Women invites you to Council House (241 West 72nd St., second floor) for a Hanukkah party. The event will run from 13:00 PM to 14:00 PM.
Singer Deborah Karpel will perform Jewish music. The program includes Yiddish, Sephardic, and Israeli compositions, as well as American classics.
Guests will enjoy latkes and a candle lighting ceremony.

Nefesh Mountain's Hanukkah Show at Brooklyn Bowl
Jewish bluegrass band Nefesh Mountain will perform at Brooklyn Bowl (61 Wythe Ave.). The concert starts at 20:00 PM.

Hanukkah Tanz! Album Release Party
A Hanukkah celebration and the presentation of klezmer clarinetist Michael Winograd's new album, 'TANZ! Live in NYC', will be held at the Center for New Jewish Culture (17 Eastern Parkway).

Night Six - Friday, December 19
′Spin, Sing, and Shine for Hanukkah!′ at the Children's Museum of Manhattan

The program includes the creation of wooden dreidels, candle making, and musical performances.

Hanukkah Lit Party in Williamsburg
Unveiled Nightclub, located beneath the William Vale Hotel (94 North 13th St.), will host its 10th anniversary Hanukkah Lit.
