For 18 months for Ukrainian citizens in the US extended January 10, Temporary Protected Status (TPS). New York provides resources to help Ukrainians.
The extension of TPS for Ukrainians will allow approximately 103 current TPS holders to re-register. This is only available to individuals who have previously received temporary protected status under the Ukraine program. Many resources for Ukrainians in New York provide information and assistance.
Immigration Legal Aid
- U.S. citizens who wish to leave Ukraine can call these Department of State numbers: 1-833-741-2777 (within the U.S.) and 1-606-260-4379 (outside the U.S.).
- People seeking assistance for their family members, U.S. citizens, and lawful permanent residents can fill out the form here for assistance requests.
- USAID Portal contains useful up-to-date information about the current situation and aid organizations.
- On the UN Agency website The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has information on resources in specific countries.
Additionally, New Yorkers have access to free and safe immigration legal assistance.
