Mayor Bill de Blasio received another disappointing response, shattering his hopes of becoming the next governor of New York. Patch... A new poll by Data For Progress found that de Blasio is firmly established in last place among potential candidates for governor.
De Blasio received the lowest support in the poll at 3 percent and the highest negative rating at 60 percent. The governor Katie Hockool leads with 36 percent. Hawkul is followed by Attorney General Laetitia James with 22 percent.
But de Blasio, when asked on November 22, denied the poll results. He said he wouldn't become mayor if he listened to the polls.
“It's not where you start, it's where you end,” he said.
The poll is not the only sign of de Blasio's tough struggle.
One recent survey found that de Blasio is the most unpopular politician in New York. He is inferior even to former President Donald Trump and former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Cuomo actually finished third in the Data For Progress poll.
De Blasio was not frightened by the survey. He has been less and less evasive about his candidacy for governor and recently unveiled a statewide education proposal. Proposal reflects his achievements as Mayor in Education for 3-K and Pre-K.
