Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: 2024 Route, Participants, and Stars

The holiday season is officially underway as the city gears up for one of the biggest holiday parades ever: the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 98th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off Thursday, November 28, at 8:30 a.m., reports Silive.

В parade There will be 39 balloons, 22 floats, 28 clown teams, 11 marching bands and 24 performers taking part.

The landmark event is expected to last three and a half hours.

Star-studded performances and performances

Every year, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade features Broadway performers. This year, viewers will be treated to performances by Coco Jones, Chloe Bailey, Charli D'Amelio and more.

Route

The parade will begin at 77th Street and Central Park West at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

It will run a 4-mile route from Central Park West to Columbus Circle, turn east to Central Park South and head south along Sixth Avenue, then turn onto 34th Street and end at 7th Avenue in front of the Macy's flagship department store in Herald Square.

Spectators should arrive early, around 6:00 a.m., to secure a prime spot along Central Park West between West 75th and West 61st Streets. Or choose a prime spot along 6th Avenue between West 59th and West 38th Streets.

Locations where viewing is prohibited or restricted due to national television coverage:

• Central Park West and West 77th Street;
• Central Park West between West 60th and West 59th streets;
• Central Park South between Columbus Circle and 6th Avenue;
• 6th Avenue between West 38th and West 34th Streets;
• West 34th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.

Inflating balloons

One of the most exciting events to see actually happens before the parade day. The signature balloons will be prepared for the parade on Wednesday, November 27th, from 12:00 PM to 18:00 PM on the Upper West Side, near the Museum of Natural History, between West 77th and West 81st Streets.
