During a September 23 meeting, Allison de Cerreño, MTA's deputy chief operating officer, first revealed to New Yorkers how much they can pay under the proposed program.
“It is important to note that these numbers, which I am about to share with you, are for informational purposes and are subject to change,” de Serreño warned.
How much will it cost to enter Manhattan
According to de Serreño, the exact amount of the fee has not yet been determined. During peak hours, it can range from $ 9 to $ 23 for E-ZPass users and $ 14 to $ 35 for those who pay by mail. Off-peak and night-time fees will be lower. For trucks and other types of vehicles, a different fee structure is likely to apply.
The final fee will be higher if additional benefits for certain groups are added to the program. Currently, ambulances, fire trucks and vehicles for drivers with disabilities are the only exceptions to the toll program. In addition, CBD residents will not be charged entry fees if they earn less than $ 60 per year.

Drivers on FDR Drive, West Side Highway, and the Battery Park and Hugh Carey Tunnel sections that connect them will not pay tolls unless they drive into the CBD.
Personal transport will only be charged once a day, while commercial and other transport is likely to have multiple daily charges.
Ultimately, the determining factor in pricing will be ensuring that annual revenue meets a threshold of approximately $ 1 billion.
According to the MTA presentation, the introduction of entry fees to Manhattan is expected no earlier than 2023.
