Teenager beats and nearly strangles 80-year-old man during subway robbery

A ruthless teenager brutally beat an 80-year-old man on the subway. He doused him with an unknown substance, choked him and hit him in the chest, after which he ran away with the victim's wallet, reports New York Post.
The teenage mugger approached the 80-year-old man as he was entering the subway on the A/C line at the corner of Pitkin Avenue and Euclid Avenue in East New York around 19:30 p.m. Jan. 15.
“An 80-year-old man was standing at the turnstile to enter the A/C line when an unidentified person approached him. He shone a light into his eyes and then sprayed him in the face with an unknown substance. Then the unknown person began to strangle the victim and pulled the wallet out of his pants pocket by force, ”the New York police said.
During the struggle, the guy punched an elderly stranger in the chest and fled the scene with a wallet containing an identity card and a bank card.
The victim was treated at the scene, but refused further medical attention.
The victim's stepson, Emmanuel Rosa, 35, said the man was returning home after visiting friends at a Spanish grocery store when he was attacked.
“Someone grabbed him by the back of the neck,” Rosa said of his stepfather. “They sprayed some kind of spray on him… Only stupid people do this to old people.” I hate such people. It sucks. He was shocked."

He said he didn't believe it when he first heard about it because nothing had ever happened to his stepfather before.
“I just want them to be caught and made to pay for what they did,” he said. “I will leave everything to the will of God.”
The Post withheld the name of the victim to protect him.
Police released CCTV footage showing the suspect walking through the turnstile alone.
He was described as a teenager, 175 centimeters tall, weighing 68 kg, and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark blue vest with a white hood, a red shirt and black trousers.
