A homeless man who was taken in by a Queens woman shot and killed her after a heated argument over finances. It happened just a few steps from home. The edition told in more detail NYDailyNews.
According to police, 24-year-old Sydney Lugo and 34-year-old Tariak Stikes began to quarrel in the street near the house around 09:20. The one-bedroom apartment is owned by Lugo, who let Stikes live with her.
Police believe the couple were not romantically involved.
“They blamed each other for the financial problems,” said a 24-year-old neighbor who identified himself as Ayla.
He said that they lived on the third floor, and he watched the argument from the window of the fourth floor.
"He said, 'I have all the money in the world, and you treat me like I'm broke.' He bragged about having food stamps,” Isla said. He said, "You know what?" He paused and just shot her."
Isla said the victim "was at a loss, in shock."

“She said almost incoherently, ‘I can’t believe you shot me,’” the neighbor recalled. “He contacted the police immediately. He said, "I don't have anyone else." He offered no resistance."
Medics rushed Lugo to the hospital, but they couldn't save her.
According to Isla, earlier Lugo angered the neighbors by playing loud music.
“She used to leave the radio in the hallway with the music turned on and just leave,” he said.
He added that Stykes "was never around much at all."
“He was really well built for a homeless person,” Isla said. He was quite calm, except for this outburst of anger. She was more explosive."
Stykes was quickly arrested and charged with murder and illegal possession of a weapon.
Police said both Stykes and Lugo had been arrested multiple times before.
