Build your own Brooklyn: LEGO will release a unique set inspired by this borough

New York architectural firm The Brooklyn Studio created the unique Brooklyn LEGO construction set. The set was originally designed as a holiday gift for clients and employees of the firm in honor of its 25th anniversary. But the demand for it from the general public was so high that they decided to make it available for purchase. It will be on sale very soon. Untapped New York.

Proceeds from the sale of the kits will go to the Council of Historic Districts, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of historic neighborhoods, buildings, and public spaces in New York City.

The Brooklyn LEGO set was created in collaboration with Steve Mays, a LEGO artist whose previous projects include replicas of the UK cities and landmarks of Manchester, Durham and York.

Brooklyn LEGO has 349 pieces to build Brooklyn from Carroll Gardens to Prospect Heights. This set includes mini-replicas of Brooklyn's historic landmarks, from the Carroll Street Bridge and the Gowanus Canal to the houses on Park Slope and the Grand Army Plaza Arch.

In addition to the construction set, the set includes step-by-step assembly instructions, as well as a brochure with information about the sights recreated in the construction set.

“Our goal is to make architecture management fun and cool,” says Christopher Devine, director of marketing for The Brooklyn Studio. “We hope this set will inspire the next generation of architects and conservationists.”
