Have you ever wondered what happens to luggage lost at the airport? If it is not claimed, some airports decide to sell it.

Bargain hunters often don't know what's inside suitcases, until they are paid for and opened.

To see if they were worth buying, a thrifty content creator named Becky bought a few. She recently paid $162 for unclaimed luggage — and ended up getting a lot of valuables.

A successful purchase

"Apparently the airport is doing absolutely everything to find the owner within a few months. Unfortunately, sometimes the only option is to either burn the suitcase with the belongings, which is not very good for the environment, or remove all personal information and sell it," Becky wrote in her Instagram.

A bargain hunter got a large suitcase from Undelivrd. The company gives luggage and the items inside a second life instead of throwing them away.

"Have you ever wondered what happens to undelivered packages from major carriers? They don't just disappear. These packages often contain valuable, brand-new items that, for one reason or another, never made it to their destination. That's where we come in," a company spokesperson said.

Becky decided to give it a try to see if it was worth it.

"I bought someone's lost luggage at London Heathrow Airport and this is what happened," she wrote on her Instagram page.

"If anyone recognizes this suitcase, please let me know. I would be happy to reunite you with your belongings," she said.

Inside the large rose-gold suitcase, Becky found a pair of black glitter UGG boots, some Juicy Couture slides, and a bunch of clothes. There were also a few Shein packages, a pair of hair straighteners, and a white iPad.

She described it as "absolute madness." This is the third time Becky has bought someone's luggage and warns people that it is often risky, but can also be fun.

After her last post, people expressed their opinions. The comments were mostly complimentary.

However, some did not approve of the initiative.

"It's so sad to see this. I think about the family looking for their luggage. The airline didn't help them. Then people buy their stuff. And they can't do anything but watch through their screen from the other side of this world," one user commented.

Another agreed: “As someone who has lost luggage, this is very sad.”

"This is heartbreaking. I also lost some luggage last year. It contained many valuable things that I still mourn. Please do not make fun of someone else's loss," wrote a third.
