There were details of the murder of a woman whose remains were found in a suitcase in Brooklyn: sheer horror

D'Asia Johnson has been victimized twice. The killers who dismembered her body and stuffed it into two suitcases in her apartment in Brooklyn; and the second girlfriend of her abusive boyfriend, who has since used the deceased's bank card, reports New York Daily News.

The gruesome details were revealed on October 3 in a Long Island courtroom. The alleged killer, 23-year-old Justin Williams, has been charged with bail evasion, grand larceny and assault unrelated to Johnson's murder.

Nassau County Assistant District Attorney Brittany Gurrieri said in court that Williams is the defendant in the dismemberment case of his girlfriend Johnson.

The remains of the 22-year-old victim were found in suitcases at her apartment on Linwood Street, off Atlantic Avenue in Cypress Hills, on September 21. A butcher knife was found next to her body.

An autopsy revealed that Johnson was killed with multiple stab wounds to the torso and then dismembered.

The police immediately suspected the murder of the girl's boyfriend, Justin Williams, but they arrested him only on October 1. The NYPD also released photos of five men and one woman they want to identify for further questioning. All of them are witnesses who could help in the case against Williams.

It is unclear if Williams' girlfriend, who is also the mother of his children, will be arrested. She made purchases using the electronic card of the murdered Electronic Benefits Transfer Card, but the police did not say what exactly she was buying.

Williams' mother declined to comment on allegations against her son

“I already know about all the accusations. And I don't want to know anything more about what happened, she said in the apartment she shares with her son. They've already made a monster out of him. My lawyer told me not to say anything.”

Williams appeared in Nassau County Criminal Court on October 3 on a variety of charges. He is accused of stealing nearly $1200 worth of merchandise from a Westbury Walgreens store with three accomplices in June 2020. And he is also accused of beating a 66-year-old man in June 2021.

Williams was charged with bail evasion after he missed a court date in another case on April 25, 2022.

On Monday, he pleaded not guilty. And he was ordered to post $125 bail for assault at a laundry and $000 for grand theft at Walgreens.

Boyfriend of the murdered D'Asia Johnson regularly beat her in the corridor, so her friend and neighbor says.

“He broke her ribs, her legs a couple of months ago,” Stephanie Harris said after Johnson’s body was found in the apartment. She was on crutches. He trashed her apartment, smashed the TVs in her apartment. I then told her: “Listen, I would not like to see information about you in the news.”

“He told her, ‘The only way to get rid of me is when your mother buries you, you bitch,’” Harris, 33, added.
