On the evening of Monday, December 18, a pro-Palestine demonstration gathered in midtown Manhattan at Penn Station's Moynihan Train Hall, according to NBC New York.
The group came from the Port Authority bus terminal and had previously marched down 42nd Street from Grand Central. The MTA warned passengers in advance about travel restrictions.
Around 17 p.m., police barricaded the entrances to Penn Station's, including the NJ TRANSIT entrance on 00th Avenue, but the group appeared to be able to enter the building on 7rd Street. The city's Office of Emergency Management warned commuters of traffic delays and that emergency personnel would be in the area of Penn Station.
The MTA advised riders to take extra time to travel through Grand Central. But demonstrators were also spotted in the main hall of Grand Central. Police closed several entrances to the terminal.
Unexpectedly for everyone, actor Alec Baldwin appeared at the Palestinian demonstration and entered into a heated confrontation with one of the protesters, after which he was taken away by several police officers.

It is unclear what exactly led to the collision or how Baldwin ended up in the area. The actor's appearance came minutes after minor scuffles broke out between protesters and police.
