Russian-speaking swindler Anna Sorokina asks not to be deported from America

The infamous Anna Sorokina, who posed as the heiress of a wealthy European family, insists that she be released from immigration prison and allowed to stay in New York, reports Yahoo News.

“I have lived most of my adult life in New York, and many of my friends are in the US,” Sorokina, 31, said. “I see no reason why I should be deported from the country, while ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) releases many violent criminals daily.”

The Russian-born German citizen served four years in prison after posing as the heiress of a wealthy European family named Anna Delvi between 4 and 2013. Anna took $2017 from friends, banks, and companies for her Anna Delvey Foundation project. According to the lawyer, she was just pretending to succeed in the quarry waters of New York.

She has been in ICE custody in Goshen since 2021. She was arrested for overstaying her visa after her release from prison. Sorokina, along with other detainees, filed a class action lawsuit against ICE earlier this year. According to them, the migration service neglected protection against COVID-19.

“She is fighting deportation to stay in the United States,” he said. Sorokina's legal team plans to file an appeal soon.

• Within a month after that, Sorokina spent $ 55 on living in the luxurious 11 Howard Hotel, designer clothes, classes with a personal trainer and electronics.
• One of the witnesses said that Sorokina asked her to book a hotel room in Marrakech worth $ 7 per night with a pool and a personal servant. Sorokin was supposed to pay for all this, but her credit card did not work when she was checked out. As a result, the costs had to be covered by the witness herself - in total, it amounted to about 62 thousand dollars in six days.
