Russian-speaking immigrant Mikhail Novakhov is fighting for a seat in the New York Assembly: how he wants to change the state and city

Born in Baku, Jewish by nationality, US citizen, active resident of New York: Mikhail Novakhov is an unusual person. We all know his voice, which we heard repeatedly from radios in New York. And now he needs our votes - in the elections to the State Assembly. Republican and Conservative parties nominated Novakhov from the 45th district in Brooklyn.
Mikhail moved to the USA with his father after the collapse of the USSR. He devoted several years to working in Russian Freedom FM radiowhich, by the way, he himself founded. Now Michael decided that he was ripe for politics and promoting change.
Novakhov will share his vision of the future of New York on September 8 at meeting with their supporters. Mikhail Novakhov has been living in New York for a long time, therefore he knows the problems and strengths of the city. One of the economic foundations of the metropolis is small business, and Mikhail intends to protect it in every possible way. The sore point of the city is affordable housing. Novakhov advocates the construction of new residential complexes in Brooklyn in order to solve the housing shortage and stabilize housing prices.
“But my main concern is safety. I am categorically against releasing criminals without bail. It is this and the policy of the Democratic Mayor de Blasio that provoked an unprecedented increase in crime in the city,” Novakhov emphasizes.
The politician has his own vision of the future of education and the transport system of New York. He advocates continued reform of the police to make it more efficient and fair. In addition, Novakhov actively fights for equality - for everyone, everywhere, including not only representatives of different ages, genders and races, but also released prisoners and representatives of other social groups that are now often forgotten.
