Avelo Airlines, the most budget low-cost airline in the USA, launched flights from New York to Florida: tickets for $79

The Houston, Texas-headquartered low-cost low-cost carrier is launching flights between New York City's Binghamton Airport (BGM), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and South West Florida International Airport (RSW). The edition told in more detail The points guy.
The flight will be twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting November 16th. Ticket prices start at $79 one way.
This will significantly expand Binghamton's ability to fly to Florida. There is currently one daily Delta Connection flight on a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet 200 to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).

Avelo has been steadily expanding and the new route is made possible by the new generation of second-generation Boeing 737 aircraft the airline has acquired. The airline has just received its 11th aircraft and expects to have 16 aircraft in its fleet by the second quarter of next year.
Much of Avelo's recent expansion is focused on Florida. The airline opened its third base at Orlando International Airport (MCO) earlier this year and has recently focused its efforts on connecting underserved northern cities with the sunshine state. The airline recently announced a new flight between two cities in Michigan - Lansing and Kalamazoo - Orlando and Fort Myers.
The Avelo flight will be the first between Binghamton and Florida since at least 2003. The nearest airport offering non-stop flights to Florida and other destinations is Syracuse-Hancock International Airport (SYR).
