And during transportation and installation, a small, but very important part was lost - the horn. As a result, I had to cast a new one. But the lost one was soon found, and now the bull has three horns.

It all started in Brooklyn - away from noisy tourist sites, in a workshop on India Street. Its owner, Bill Mecky, shows the workshop where more than one famous sculpture was created. Meki himself is a master of bronze casting. For the casting of the bull, a molding material was used that can hold the imprint of any sculpture when compacted.

How the sculpture was created

The craftsman shows an iron box and adds that the bull is made of the same material. Of course, at the time of the interview, another sculpture was in shape, but “Attacking Bull” was created in the same box.

Sand is placed around the sculpture to create an impression. Bronze is poured into the mold and a reproduction is obtained.

The "attacking bull" weighs over 3 tons. And in order to transport and install it in Lower Manhattan, a serious engineering operation was performed. The Wall Street Bull consisted of 32 parts. During the welding of all the parts into a single sculpture, a shortage was noticed in the workshop. The bull turned into a unicorn. Meki says that during the collection they could not find one piece, they had to make another horn. After completing the collection of the sculpture, the craftsmen found the missing piece. Since then, he has been in the workshop.

He was probably lucky, because thousands of tourists' hands do not reach out to him and polish him every day.

Although, the horn is not the only mysterious product of the workshop that the general public will not see. Among such works is the bust of Mikhail Gorbachev, which Bill shows with special joy. The General Secretary of the CPSU is depicted in full bloom. The master must have captured the moment when the General Secretary took over as President of the USSR. Bill did not disclose the name of the customer.
